Masa Inakage is the founding Dean and Professor of Keio University Graduate School of Media Design, known as Keio Media Design or KMD. He is currently the Co-Director of Keio-NUS CUTE Center that is supported by the National Research Foundation in Singapore. He has been active as media designer, creative director and producer, as well as strategist. Inakage leads and advises various academic and professional projects using his expertise in entertainment design, story thinking, and user experience design. Projects are diverse, ranging from academic exploration of innovative concepts, for-profit innovative products and services, to non-profit social change. He sits on advisory board and executive board of numerous corporations for corporate innovation strategy, as well as has served as members of government committees and international organizations including the World Economic Forum, Mobile Life Center, and NetExpo. He has published more than 100 research papers, artworks, animation works, and interaction design works in refereed journals, conferences, festivals, and art galleries in the areas of computer graphics, animation, media art, and interaction design. His works have been shown internationally at galleries and festivals, including Museum of Modern Art in NYC and Ars Electronica Center in Linz, Austria.
His current research interests include Affective City, post-Internet of Things, Social Entertainment, Collective Creativity, Storytelling, Creative Global Leadership, and Design Innovation Strategy.
Principal Researcher, Internet Graphics Group of MSRA
Xin Tong is now a principal researcher in Internet Graphics Group of Microsoft Research Asia. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Graphics from Tsinghua University in 1999. His Ph.D. thesis is about hardware assisted volume rendering. He got his B.S. Degree and Master Degree in Computer Science from Zhejiang University in 1993 and 1996 respectively.
His research interests include appearance modeling and rendering, texture synthesis, and image based modeling and rendering. Specifically, his research concentrates on studying the underline principles of material light interaction and light transport, and developing efficient methods for appearance modeling and rendering. He is also interested in performance capturing and facial animation.
